Frida & Adrien

This bracelet is a reinvention of the Angle&Curve bracelet. It was born from my taste for ropes, weaving, basketry. Consider the silver wire like a reed and find a technical and aesthetic solution to make its two ends meet without soldering. The wrapping of one strand around the other to emphasize the beauty of the attachment instead of making it invisible.

I named it Frida&Adrien in reference to Frida Minet and Adrien Audoux, a couple of Franco-Swiss designers, members of the Union of Modern Artists alongside, among others, Charlotte Perriand. From the 1920s, they created everyday objects highlighting so-called poor natural materials such as hemp and beech wood using artisanal techniques such as weaving. I am lucky enough to sit every day on one of their woven chairs, miraculously found in a second hand shop in the Netherlands a few years ago. Contemplating it every day certainly fueled my imagination.

This bracelet is made by hand in my workshop with a single thread.
